60th Anniversary of the Sinking of the Carl D. Bradley:
The Carl D. Bradley was the biggest ship on the Great Lakes until the launch of the Edmund Fitzgerald. This year is the 60th anniversary of her sinking. The program contains: Frank Mays, the only living survivor, sharing his story as he watched his ship break in two and spent a night clinging to a tiny raft as it fell between mountainous waves; Coast Guard Captain Harold Muth recalling the evening he took the USCGC Sundew and her crew out in the raging gale to look for survivors; along with underwater footage of the Bradley sitting in 360 feet of water today. |
